We are current preparing the redesign of the whole Datacenter Jena1 Backbone Area.

The goals of the new design are:
* more reliability than the old architecture
* more bandwidth for connected servers
* more redundancy
* load-balancing
* removal of the last SPOFs for some servers
* higher L2-security

It is planned to deploy the new architecture for Block C and D until 12/2016 and A+B until 12/2017.

We are going to prepare the gateways in DCJ1 for hardware and software upgrade:

* preparation done for Hosting-Platform VLAN IPv4/6 migrated to dsw-c6kb
* dsw-c6ka is now ready for upgrade

First step is to upgrade the router "dsw-c6ka" to a more powerful hardware and a software-version that is able to loadbalance IPv6 outgoing traffic. This task needs the following actions:

* shutdown the switch
* remove the old hardware linecards
* add the new hardware linecards
* reboot the switch
* import the prepared config
* do some reconfiguration if needed

During this time the following datacenter racks are affected with a hard downtime:

* all racks of DCJ1-A
* all racks of DJ1-CR
* IPv6 for DCJ1-A,B,C,D + CR

reason of downtime:
* theres racks are still not migrated to redundant uplink connections

estimated downtime: 30-60 min
